The Color Purple is a saga of hope, inspiration, and triumph, and is based on the Pulitzer-Prize winning novel by Alice Walker.

What Is The Colour Purple About?

Life in the 1930s American South is hard, especially for Celie - a young African-American girl from a poor background. She lives with her abusive father until, at the tender age of just fourteen, she is married off to a man to be his wife, servant and tend to any needs he might have. The Colour Purple is a tender coming-of-age story that follows Celie as she discovers the power or love and of her own strength through friendships forged with several remarkable women.
