Written by Tony Award winning writer Tony McNally, this 'play within a play' parody of Broadway theatre exhibits clever comedy and big laughs as we follow the story of new Broadway producer Julia Budder, playwright Peter Austin and the rest of their quirky crew as they nervously await the late-night news reviews for their first show. High stakes, hilarious satire and a love of all-things theatre combine into this theatrical parody of an opening night.

From Stephen Schwartz, the multi-award winning Wicked and Pippin composer comes his 1971 hit Godspell! Forming part of Phoenix Theatre's 2017/18 Broadway mainstage season, Godspell is the modern retelling of the greatest story ever told; the journey from birth to death, of one Jesus Christ. With the action taking place in modern-day New York, this enduring show is based on the Gospel of St Matthew and uses "improvisation and contemporary themes to illustrate the parables, (bringing) these lessons to life through the grand tradition of musical theatre."
